• We skip to when the charm wears off.
• Seir suddenly squats, saying he feels off. Arkan asks what's wrong, and then feels weird himself. As the charm wears off, he comes to realise he murdered River and darts off to the abbey.
• We meet up with Lilly and River, and talk through a locked door. Arkan is relieved that River's all right. Lilly loads a crossbow and interrogates them. Belial explains what happens as Arkan apologises profusely.
• Arkan mentions the kenku that protected them as they were dying on the way to Krezk, but isn't sure that the wereravens are cool with them. He might just be out of the loop.
• River asks why they're there and accuses Arkan of trying to kill him again. Arkan says no, that he's here to apologise to River.
• Seir and River start to argue over who is the best. The rest watch in horror. Seir starts making murder threats and the rest panic.
• River considers jumping out the window. Lilly slowly convinces him out of it. At one point, River suggests they might trap the door. Lilly says she is confident in his ability to find these traps. River accuses Lilly of stroking his ego. She fumbles around words, but River cuts her off saying, "Well, it's working."
• Lilly suggests they sleep in the hut. Since River is under suggestion, he sleeps. Lilly tries to sneak out of the hut after he's asleep, but fails terribly and wakes him up. River now wants to flee.
• Lilly proposes a plan of luring the Fuck Trio away while River hides. River secretly decides to dig through the floor to escape.
• After some more back and forth, Lilly finally unlocks the door. Belial is the first to enter and does so very peacefully. River is suspicious but everything is ok. Seir walks in. River is more suspicious. Arkan sits in a ball outside the room and doesn't enter.
• Belial charms River into making him more accepting toward him and everyone in the room. River doesn't trust Seir at all and wants to throw him out. Seir refuses to leave and challenges River into trying. As things escalate, Arkan finally moves in and tries to drag Seir out. Seir pushes him to the ground.
• River tries to use Hold Person on Seir and Arkan. He fails terribly, but Arkan at least looks paralyzed because he's moved back to ball form. Seir, however, starts antagonising River. River decides to leave and goes down a hall where a flesh golem is patrolling. Meanwhile, Belial and Arkan sit in balls, but Belial eventually gets up and follows the others.
• River opens a door in the hall and provokes the flesh golem.
  • Belial, walking down the stairs, hears rumbling around the corner. He sees the flesh golem and uses Web to restrain it, hopefully.
  • Seir takes a couple steps back and stares at it.
  • River tries to attack and fails.
  • The flesh golem beats on Lilly.
  • Lilly asks everyone to flee and such.
  • Arkan slowly had been following Belial and arrives on scene, asking what's going on.
  • Belial explains and then tries to convince River to leave. River is unconvinced.
  • Seir grapples River and starts dragging him away.
  • River escapes! He walks out of the building.
  • The flesh golem beats on Lilly.
  • Lilly heals herself and prepares a dodge action.
  • Arkan moves forward and pulls Lilly out of the way, taking a hard hit from the golem for it. He puts up a Mage Armor.
  • Belial runs.
  • Seir leaves the building and sees Clovis. Clovis is feeding something.
  • River claims that two of his companions are sicing the flesh golem on him.
  • The flesh golem beats on Arkan.
  • Lilly, upon being told Arkan plans to flee, runs herself.
  • Arkan disengages and follows Lilly.
  • Belial runs out and is confronted by Clovis. Belial explains that River went down the hall.
  • Seir continues to move away.
  • River claims that Belial is framing him and shoves past him. Clovis moves into the hall and tells the golem to stop.
• We high tail it out of there as Clovis calms the golem down. We yell thanks.
• The abbot is out there and asks about what happened. River claims the party is chasing him, and we all go "No you're just being paranoid." River proves it by making conspiracy theories about the group.
• Arkan asks if the abbot can look at River at all and try to diagnose his paranoia. The abbot thinks he's fine. Arkan manages to persuade him into trying something. The abbot tries Detect Evil and Good and sees no evil.
• Belial specifically asks for a restoration. River cuts them off and says that he's bored and leaving. We try to stop him and fail. The abbot tries some other healing thing and does nothing to fix his madness. Thanks for being useless. According to the DM, he doesn't fucking have Lesser or Greater Restoration.
• River wants to go fight Strahd and get the Sunsword. We try to convince him otherwise, but he won't listen. Belial throws a net around him. The charm from earlier wears off and River gets mad, and tries to chew Belial out, and gets chewed out himself.
• Arkan prepares to beat River's ass to make him stop. River prepares to break out.
  • Belial tries to grapple River.
  • Lilly tries to grapple River.
  • Seir tries to grapple River.
  • River uses a Thunderwave and shove Belial and Lilly away. Arkan uses Shocking Grasp.
  • Arkan tries to attack, but Lilly counterspells it.
  • Belial makes River half his size.
  • Lilly grapples River for real.
  • Seir asks what we're doing. Lilly wants to keep River calm and in place. Arkan wants to knock River unconscious to keep him from running off and has bandaids to stabilise him. Seir shrugs and joins the hug pile.
  • River creates a Spirit Guardians to attack the party.
  • Arkan gets the shit beat out of him by the guardians and falls unconscious.
  • Belial gets hit by the guardians but is okay. He keeps River tiny.
  • Lilly gets hit by the guardians and heals Arkan back up.
  • Seir stabs up River, deciding fuck this. The concentration on Spirit Guardians ends.
  • Arkan does Scorching Rays on River, just kinda... fuck this. He manages to knock River unconscious with a final Fire Bolt.
• The abbot yells, "Enough! You people are a menace!" He then takes River.
• We all start arguing because we don't want to give up River. The abbot thinks we're all evil and River is better with him.
• We try to get River back and all fail. Lilly and Belial convine Seir and Arkan to back off. We argue as we leave.
  • Lilly: "I am three units of being knocked out."
• We leave the abbey. The gates are slammed behind us. We are no longer welcome there.
